From 7am, the famous maker of Ardberg and Laphroaig whiskies (from the 80’s and 90’s) heats up the stills in the smallest Scottish distillery.

As a whisky novice, I met up with Jean-Marc Bellier in the cellar where the eau de vie will soon be produced. I have never seen the distillation process with my own eyes, so I was delighted to spend a whole day in the heart of the ‘machine’, surrounded by all the smokes and liquids. For an “image maker”, the biggest advantage of this modestly sized distillery is that everything is done in the same room and all is within eye-ranging distance.

Armed with my trusty Coolpix and a small numerical Olympus camera , I was ready to capture every single movement the master distiller made. We weren’t disappointed! So I invite you to have a browse through our gallery so that you can see for yourself.
